Visual Artist, Art Educator, born and based in Karachi, Pakistan. Fatima's work is driven by an interest in human subjectivity across intersections of identity, spaces, body, image and their relationship with visual technologies. I explore these as, constituted "spaces", between historical and contemporary social surfaces. Working mostly through the mediums of Gouaches, water color and acrylics on Wasli paper, highlighting spaces which are collected from Persian and Mughal Miniature paintings.
Enrolled for masters in History with art related courses (Hindu Buddhist Art and Architecture and Muslim Art and Architecture) at Karachi University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Art with subjects of English literature, Sociology and Islamic History, with four years of Diploma in fine art from Karachi School of Art in 2016 and did a certificate course in Muslim Illuminated Manuscript from Princess School of Traditional Art London in 2017 (VMTC, Karachi).
Fatima has worked as a full-time lecturer of Drafting for Art and Design, leading the Foundation year Diploma program from 2017 till 2020 and currently working as a visiting lecturer, taking second and third year miniature classes at Karachi School of Art.
